Twilight star Gregory Tyree Boyce and girlfriend found dead

May 18, 2020.

Twilight star Gregory Tyree Boyce and his girlfriend Natalie Adepoju have been found dead.

A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Medical Examiners confirmed to E! News on Monday (May 18) that Boyce and Adepoju had both been pronounced dead last Wednesday (May 13).

An investigation into the couple's causes of death are still pending, so there is no available information at this time about the events leading up to their passing.

Boyce is best known for starring in 2008's Twilight as Tyler Crowley, the student who nearly killed Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) with his van before Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) rushed to her rescue.

This was a pivotal scene in the movie, as it was the moment where Bella realized that Edward had superhuman capabilities for the very first time.

Boyce's mother Lisa Wayne shared her grief over his death on Facebook, writing: "I'm sick without you. I'm torn, I'm lost. I'm in pain. I'd text you or call you when I was broken or worried about something, and you'd tell me, Ma, I got you, we'll get thru this together. Boy.

"Why did you leave me. We lived in the same complex and you were my dinner. You'd cook, I'd come eat and chill and walk back home."

She later shared a memory of their last meeting: "With you, the last time I saw you on Monday, May 11, 2020, I went to your house to eat leftovers from Mother's day, we watched a Dave Chappelle show and you walked me to my car, hugged me, kissed me on my cheek and told me that you love me and to call you when I got home.

Jussie Smollett Lawsuit Against City Of Chicago Tossed By Federal Judge

April 23, 2020

US District Court Judge Virginia Kendall ruled Wednesday that Jussie Smollett’s claim of malicious prosecution by the City of Chicago cannot move forward.

The judge did rule that Smollett can refile the case if he’s found not guilty in his upcoming trial on his original charges of fabricating a racially charged assault.

A grand jury in February re-indicted Smollet on charges he staged a hate crime. Special prosecutor Dan Webb pushed for the charges after Smollett’s original 16 counts were dropped by prosecutors, a move that caused outrage in some quarters.

Webb filed a new six-count indictment against the former Empire star in February. Smollett has pleaded not guilty.

The city has also sued Smollett to recover $130,106 for its investigation into his claims. Smollett filed a counterclaim last November, making his malicious prosecution allegations against the city, detectives Michael Theis and Edward Wodnicki, former Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson and bodybuilding brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo.

Smollett has steadfastly maintained his innocence on the charges.

VI Recording Artist, Krueshef, is Making Great Strides on the World Stage

January 10, 2020

Freedomcity Times caught up with VI Recording artist, Krueshef, as he paid a visit to his hometown, Frederiksted, St. Croix, this week to mingle with his family and friends.

Krueshef, who's real name is Clarence Joseph, was born and raised in Frederiksted and graduated from the St. Croix Educational Complex.

As a youngster, Joseph began singing and boxing at the age of 12 and competed in various boxing tournaments in the Virgin Islands & the Caribbean, and won several medals. His first on stage singing performance was at 16 when he and his brother dazzled the crowd, during a VI Star Search Talent competition, at Island Center for the Performing Arts. Since then his ability to mock artists, like Bounty Killer and Merciless had caught the ears of his peers.

The Crucian relocated to the US Mainland after graduating from High School. Once he reached New York City, he took the opportunity to continue to polish his musical writing and performing talents. During his stay in Colorado Springs, Krueshef was able to network and perform with popular artists like Jason Derulo, Bobby Brackins, Natty King, DMX, Coast to Coast, and 96.1 The Beat.

Perhaps, Krusef's biggest performance had to be when he rocked the crowd in Colorado Springs in 2011 at the Annual Spring Spree event. His performance drew more than 3 times the audience over American Idol Runner up Bo Bice.

Now that Krueshef has made his home in California, Krueshef has collaborated with musical artist Ibru and released “Di Great I’AM” which is distributed worldwide with Zojack worldwide music. Most recently, Krueshef has worked with One Army Entertainment, one of the hottest Jamaican producers in Jamaica along with music consultant Cara Vickers, and has released “Pray with Me” on the Bitter Bush Riddim alongside well-known reggae artists like Bugle, Jah Vinci and Zagga.

Krueshef's music is on Youtube or on his website, www.krueshef.com.

He plans to come home regularly in 2020.

Marc Anthony's $7 Million Yacht Caught Fire & Capsized in Miami

December 19, 2019

Singer Marc Anthony's yacht caught fire Wednesday night in Miami and capsized.

At 7:30 p.m., Miami Fire Rescue responded to the fire, which was docked at a marina on Watson Island. Two fireboats initially arrived at the sight of the yacht already engulfed in flames.

The team worked to extinguish the fire before it could spread to other boats docked at the marina.

"Boat fires can quickly go from a small compartment fire into an unstoppable blaze in a matter of minutes because of the material found onboard these vessels," Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said in a statement.

The firefighters used an oil-absorbent to soak up oil on the surface of the water in order to decrease potential negative environmental impacts, according to Miami-Dade.

December 8,2019

Zozibini Tunzi took home the 2019 Miss Universe title at the annual beauty pageant on Sunday, held this year at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Hailing from South Africa, the 26-year-old pageant winner is the first black woman from her country to wear the Miss Universe crown. She works as an activist, and is particularly passionate about fighting gender-based violence. Natural beauty is also important to Tunzi, who believes women should "love themselves the way they are," according to the Miss Universe website.

After being named the winner, Tunzi pressed her hands together against her head and grinned.

She was then presented with the Miss Universe sash, which was placed over her sparkling, long-sleeved gown.

Of course, the Miss Universe crown followed. Tunzi looked emotional as Catriona Gray — who previously served as Miss Philippines and Miss Universe 2018 — placed the crown upon her head.

This year's crown is called the "Power of Unity," according to a video from Mouawad Jewelry.

She was up against Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Mexico, who took home second and third place respectively.
