St. Croix Leads Voter Turnout With 3,658 Ballots Cast; St. Thomas Reports 3,181 and St. John 418

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — A total of 7,257 voters across the U.S. Virgin Islands had cast their ballots as of 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, according to the latest general election turnout figures released by Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes.

The figures show St. Croix leading the territory in voter participation, with 3,658 electors having voted. St. Thomas reported 3,181 voters, while St. John recorded 418.

With voting centers scheduled to close at 7:00 p.m., Fawkes encouraged residents who had not yet exercised their right to vote to proceed to a voting center before the deadline.

The latest figures provide an important snapshot of voter participation as the territory approaches the final hour of Election Day, with candidates and supporters awaiting the results of several closely watched political races.

In her Election Day message, Fawkes shared a quote from Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, reminding voters of the broader significance of participating in the democratic process.

“I often say that a vote is a kind of prayer for the world we desire for ourselves and for our children,” the quote stated.

As the polls prepare to close, attention now turns to the counting process and the results that will determine the territory's political leadership and representation for the next term.
