U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has congratulated Governor-elect Stacey Plaskett, Lieutenant Governor-elect Milton Potter and other successful candidates following Tuesday’s 2026 General Election.

In a statement released Tuesday, Bryan also thanked Virgin Islands voters for participating in the democratic process and recognized the Election System of the Virgin Islands, including election staff, poll workers and volunteers, for their efforts in conducting the election.

“I extend my congratulations to Governor-elect Stacey Plaskett, Lieutenant Governor-elect Milton Potter and all those elected to serve the people of the Virgin Islands,” Bryan said.

The governor described public service as a significant responsibility, emphasizing the importance of integrity, respect and working toward the common good.

Bryan also acknowledged the candidates who participated in the election, noting that their willingness to seek public office and serve the community was worthy of recognition.

He praised election personnel and volunteers for their preparation, long hours and dedication, saying their work makes it possible for Virgin Islanders to exercise their right to vote.

Looking toward the transition in leadership, Bryan emphasized that government continues beyond individual administrations and that each generation of elected officials has a responsibility to advance the Territory.

“Government is perpetual, and each of us entrusted to serve has a responsibility to leave our islands stronger than we found them,” Bryan said.

He expressed hope that Plaskett, Potter and the incoming elected leaders would build on existing progress and create additional opportunities for the people of the Virgin Islands.

Bryan closed his message by encouraging residents to remain united and committed to the Territory’s future as the incoming administration prepares to assume leadership.

The November 3 election marks a significant political transition for the U.S. Virgin Islands, with voters selecting the Territory’s next governor, lieutenant governor and representatives to serve in public office.
